United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) is expanding its influence in the Philippine automotive scene with the official acquisition of the local distributorship for Radar, Geely’s electric lifestyle vehicle brand.

Radar, a sub-brand under China’s Geely Holding Group, is best known for the Radar RD6—its flagship all-electric pickup truck. With a range of up to 632 kilometers (CLTC standard), vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, and a robust cargo bed, the RD6 blends utility and eco-consciousness.

Built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), the RD6 offers both rear- and all-wheel-drive options and power outputs of up to 315 kW (428 PS), depending on the variant. Battery packs range from 63 kWh to 100 kWh, giving customers flexibility based on their driving needs.

The vehicle’s cabin is styled similarly to the Geely Haoyue SUV, incorporating a large touchscreen interface, multiple charging ports, generous interior space, and even a front trunk—or “frunk”—for extra storage. Aside from the RD6, Radar is expected to debut a new plug-in hybrid model at Auto Shanghai 2025, with strong potential for a Philippine launch as well.

UAAGI currently manages several automotive brands in the Philippines, including Chery, Foton, BAIC, and Lynk & Co. The addition of Radar to this roster reinforces UAAGI’s commitment to sustainable mobility and innovation.
“We are thrilled to welcome Radar to the UAAGI family,” said UAAGI Chairman Rommel Sytin. “Radar’s focus on electric lifestyle vehicles, particularly its groundbreaking pickup trucks, aligns with our vision to offer advanced and environmentally responsible transportation solutions to Filipino consumers. This brand will appeal to those who value both practicality and a sustainable lifestyle.”
The timing is strategic, as the Philippine EV market gains momentum through government support and growing consumer awareness. Radar’s entry is expected to carve out a new niche, attracting adventurers, professionals, and green-minded drivers seeking a rugged yet eco-friendly alternative.
According to Radar CEO Dr. Ling Shiquan, “2025 marks a new era of global cooperation for the brand. We are aiming for 30,000 units in global sales and leadership in the NEV pickup market across all key regions.”
UAAGI will announce local pricing, model variants, and availability for the Radar brand in the coming months. Analysts anticipate Radar’s arrival will fuel competition in the EV segment and inspire more brands to invest in electric pickups for the Philippine market.
