BYD is bent on disrupting the local automotive scene. It first unsettled the compact crossover market with the Sealion 6, then the subcompact sedan market with the Seal 5. It now aims to disrupt the local mid-size pick up truck market with the Shark 6.

The specs are good.
It has a plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a 1.5L Turbocharged gasoline engine and dual electric motors. The combined output is 429hp and 650Nm of torque, which is more than what the Ranger Raptor V6 puts out.
Electrical power is supplied by a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a capacity of 29.58kWh that’s good enough for 100km of pure EV range.
It has an official total range of 800km with a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery but that’s a safe estimate.

Veteran drivers, George and Louis Ramirez with supervision from the Automobile Associate of the Philippines (AAP) tested the range of the Shark 6 and they were able to travel 1114.3km without refueling or recharging.
On paper, it looks like it might steamroll some of the pickups in this segment. We can’t wait to get behind the wheel so we can tell you our unbiased opinion
The Shark 6 comes in 2 variants, which are priced as follows:
BYD Shark 6 Advanced: ₱2,098,000.
BYD Shark 6 Premium: ₱2,298,000
