GWM Philippines has officially launched the Haval H7, bringing a rugged-looking electrified SUV into one of the country’s most competitive segments. While many brands are chasing efficiency and tech alone, the H7 is taking a slightly different route by combining hybrid power, strong performance numbers, and available four-wheel drive capability.

The Haval H7 enters the local market with three electrified variants:

• Haval H7 HEV 2WD – ₱1,298,000
• Haval H7 PHEV 2WD – ₱1,498,000
• Haval H7 PHEV 4WD – ₱1,698,000

An introductory ₱50,000 discount is also being offered for a limited period, making the pricing even more aggressive.

The range starts with the H7 HEV 2WD, which combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and electric motor producing a combined 244 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque.

For buyers looking for stronger performance and the ability to drive primarily on electricity during daily commutes, GWM also offers the H7 PHEV variants.

The range-topping Haval H7 PHEV 4WD uses GWM’s Hi4 intelligent all-wheel-drive system and produces an impressive 364 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque. Those figures place it among the more powerful electrified SUVs within its price category.

Power comes from a 19 kWh battery pack in the Philippine-spec PHEV model, delivering a claimed electric-only driving range of up to 91 kilometers under the NEDC testing cycle. The top-spec 4WD model also gets a rear differential lock, giving it a more serious off-road flavor than many crossover-based rivals.

Dimension-wise, the Haval H7 is larger than it initially appears in photos. It measures:

• Length: 4,800 mm
• Width: 1,950 mm
• Height: 1,843 mm
• Wheelbase: 2,738 mm

The boxy design, upright stance, and full-size spare wheel further reinforce its rugged image while giving it a strong road presence.

Inside, the H7 carries a tech-focused layout with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment display. Other notable features include wireless Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and an extensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

On paper, the Haval H7 enters the market with a compelling formula: big dimensions, strong horsepower figures, a usable EV-only range, and available four-wheel drive capability at a price that undercuts many expected rivals.
