BYD Cars Philippines has officially launched the all-new BYD Sealion 7, a fully electric SUV that combines sports car-like acceleration with the practicality of a family SUV
Positioned as the brand’s flagship performance SUV, the Sealion 7 arrives with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 523 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque. Those figures allow the electric SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in an officially claimed 4.5 seconds, making it one of the quickest electric SUVs currently available in its price range.
In our testing, however, the Sealion 7 proved to be even quicker than expected. Using our timing equipment, we recorded a 0-100 km/h run of just 4.1 seconds, comfortably beating the manufacturer’s official claim.

Power comes from BYD’s 82.6-kWh Blade Battery, which delivers a claimed range of up to 542 kilometers on the NEDC cycle. That combination of strong performance and long-distance capability allows the Sealion 7 to function both as a daily commuter and a capable long-range cruiser.
Helping put that power to the ground is a suspension setup designed to balance comfort and handling. The Sealion 7 uses a double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, a configuration more commonly found in performance-oriented vehicles. The setup is intended to provide improved stability during spirited driving while maintaining ride comfort for everyday use.
Beyond its performance credentials, the Sealion 7 features a spacious five-seat cabin, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems.
The BYD Sealion 7 is priced at ₱2,588,000 in the Philippines.
