Jetour’s premium sub-brand, Jetour Gaia, has just introduced its flagship SUV, the Jetour G700. It goes up against an icon in the segment, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
At a glance, they follow a similar formula. Both are 4WD, body-on-frame, full-size SUVs with three rows of seating. But that is where most of the similarities end.
Under the hood, the LC300 stays true to its roots with a 3.3-liter diesel engine producing 300 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. It is proven, reliable, and built for long-distance durability.
The G700 takes a very different approach. It uses a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 2.0-liter gasoline engine paired with dual electric motors. The combined output is a staggering 904 horsepower and 1,135 Nm of torque. It also offers an EV-only range of 100 to 150 kilometers, along with a total driving range of up to 1,200 kilometers.
Suspension is another key difference. The G700 comes with adjustable air suspension, allowing ground clearance to vary from 210 mm to 270 mm, and up to 300 mm when needed. The LC300, in comparison, has a fixed ground clearance of 230 mm.
Both SUVs may share the same basic foundation, but they represent two very different philosophies. One focuses on tradition and proven engineering, while the other leans into electrification and high performance.
As for pricing, the Jetour Gaia G700 sells for P4,488,000 while the LC300 sells for P5,758,000
