Hycan, a joint venture between GAC and Pearl River Investment Management Group, has recently expanded into the Philippine automotive market through Transcorp. This move brings Hycan’s electric vehicle offerings to a broader audience, building upon the company’s commitment to sustainable transportation.

A New Player in Electric Mobility

Established in 2018, Hycan has swiftly gained attention in the electric vehicle sector. With the climate crisis pushing the demand for greener solutions, Hycan’s global presence represents the growing shift towards electric vehicles.

Transcorp’s Role in Hycan’s Expansion

Transcorp, a subsidiary under the umbrella of Sinoequip and Transequip, has a history of distributing various heavy machinery and trucks in the region. With a network of showrooms and warehouses, the company is equipped to support the distribution of Hycan’s EV models – V9, Z03, and AU6+ – in the Philippines.

The Hycan Fleet

Hycan’s fleet is diversifying with the introduction of three models:

  • The AU6 PLUS aims to combine innovation with the practicalities of daily use, offering features such as rain-sensing wipers and dual front airbags. The model emphasizes connectivity and comfort with its user-friendly interior design.
  • The V09 model is marketed as an electric MPV. It features premium seating and a high-definition display system, with a focus on passenger experience. The vehicle is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor and claims a CLTC pure electric cruising range of 620 km.
  • The Z03 model would likely serve as a complement to the AU6 PLUS and V09, potentially targeting a different segment of the electric vehicle market, such as the more compact or crossover category.

Hycan’s approach to the design and marketing of these vehicles suggests a push towards integrating luxury features within the electric vehicle space, while also highlighting performance capabilities.

Sustainable Commitment and Customer Service

The launch of Hycan’s vehicles is supported by Transcorp’s commitment to quality customer service and sustainable environmental practices. This commitment is a core part of their service provision and customer relations in the Philippines.

Looking Ahead

Hycan’s participation in the Manila International Auto Show indicates a continued effort to introduce and integrate electric vehicles into the local market. The company’s presence at the event serves as an opportunity to showcase their models to consumers and industry stakeholders alike.

As the industry moves towards a greener future, Hycan’s entry into the Philippine market reflects the evolving landscape of transportation and the increasing interest in electric vehicle technology.
